"My husband the bear, turning into a french hunk (neck and above)" is the basis of my blog story... My dear husband recently found a passion for growing his beard. In the beginning, he had difficulties even growing an inch; itchy, scratchy, messy and what not... but from August this year, he somehow managed to overcome all the obstacles and was determined to grow them... At every two weeks, he will start to look like a beggar, then a bear and finally a full grown gorilla and that's when he realises and gets a hair cut at a local Indian barber shop..
After months of this routine.. I came across a video on french men hairstyles with beard. The video was so inspiring with sizzling hot french guys with their stylish looks. At that moment, I realised that my husband's next haircut has to be this kind. Soon after that, I started searching online for any recommended barber shop in Kuala Lumpur that possibly does hair styling closest to the french styles.
Old 7 Barber Shop (http://instagram.com/old7barbershop) was totally a coincidence for us. As I was at the urge to transform my π» husband into a french hunk, I came across a barber shop in Subang SS15 and we decided to go and check it out on a Friday afternoon. It was a blessing in disguise when that particular shop was closed and that's when we found Old 7 Barber Shop. At the entrance of #old7barber they have put up attractive photographs on a poster stand resembling their artistic work which immediately created an attraction.. (If that's what you are looking for).
We entered #old7barber to find at least 7-10 customers waiting before us, yet we were immediately welcomed with a big smile and given a seat in the waiting area. Cool latest songs were playing on their player to entertain the waiting customers together with Astro channels. They also had Free Wifi, which is impressive for a barber shop. #old7barber's black and white (BW) interiors gave an edgy and sleek look to the entire shop, in overall creating an inviting ambiance. All of the pictures framed on the wall are in BW, Their flo oring resembles a chequerboard and black furniture suiting the theme.

After almost 45minutes, it was finally my husband's turn to get transform by the chief barber, Simon.
Simon was a very friendly person with a big smile, warm and welcoming. He himself offered to take this picture (below) before the make over. My husband and I, being the jakun Malaysian, showed Simon a hairstyle photo for the transformation, but the expert only asked: " DO YOU TRUST ME?"

#old7barber, brothers from France bringing a french experience to fellow Malaysian with excellent dedication and great services. Currently a total of 6 barbers are available with each of them having their own specialisation ; to name a few, 3D designs (on the head of course), hair colouring as well as ladies hair styling.
The work begins with utmost passion which you can see it in his eyes:

It took about a good 20 minutes for the styling process, to cut, trim, shape, blow, the beard and the
Simon also advised and taught my husband on how to maintain the style, some techniques, and the do's and don'ts . This was an additional service which makes us want to give Simon 5 star rating ;).
It was time to pay and what I thought would have caused me a bomb held me totally flabbergasted! when Simon told me: RM 35.00.
Some guys might feel it is expensive for a haircut because their usual haircut might cost them less than RM10, but for me, a trip to the saloon would burn my pocket in hundreds . I stood there dumbfounded, wondering if I heard him correctly.. until I saw this cute mini chalkboard:

We were all happy and satisfied, greeted the fellow barbers (whom are also Simon's brothers) and I promised to feature them in my blog.
